The New York State Nursing Home Profile Web site allows you to:

1. search for nursing homes;
2. view nursing home details, including quality of care measurements and other information; and
3. compare nursing homes' quality of care with each other and with state and national averages.

This Web site offers you many ways to find nursing homes. The Nursing Home Profile home page lets you find nursing homes by region or county, name, first letter, or by licensed service. Searches yielding more than 25 results can be narrowed down by tightening the geographical range. These options are described in detail below.

From the search results page, you can view details of any individual nursing home, generate a directory of contact information for all the listed homes, or go directly to a comparison of the nursing homes' scores on a variety of quality measures. The following pages provide more detail on each of these features.
